Mini Hygiene Closets Established at Local Schools
The Marshall County FRN has begun to replicate the Closet of Hope model at several area schools after becoming aware that hygiene products were needed by students. Not having access to such items can create barriers to education and can make it more difficult to maintain health. By making hygiene and clothing items readily accessible to students who may need them, it is hoped that these barriers can be eliminated. The FRN had previously implemented a similar closet at John Marshall High School and other local school employees reported that having such a closet at other schools would be beneficial. Personal care and clothing items were donated to Moundsville Middle School and Cameron Middle/High School. The FRN plans to replenish items if able and if the need continues.
