The FRN, in partnership with local family support agencies, has established the Marshall County Family Support Center (MCFSC) to operate out of the Marshall County FRN office.
Family Support Centers (FSCs) are organizations that provide direct services targeted to families with children up to the age of 18. There are 56 FSCs throughout the state that serve the county in which they are based. FSCs are tasked with providing primary prevention services, based on the family support approach, to enhance family’s protective factors, thus building parent capacity and reducing risk factors for abuse and neglect. The programs, activities, and services offered by the FSC are voluntary and seek to address the needs of families in the local community. Family engagement and involvement is a key component of how FSCs function, and family participation in service planning, delivery, and evaluation is emphasized. FSCs are a program of the Department of Human Services (DoHS).
