PRES RELEASE:
The Marshall County FRN and the City of Moundsville teamed up to add a new hydration station to East End Park in Moundsville. The hydration station is a free drinking water source that includes a bi-level drinking fountain, bottle filling station, and pet water dispenser. The hydration station project was completed with Be Active grant funding provided through the Center for ActiveWV.
The hydration station was officially unveiled on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, with a ribbon cutting ceremony held at East End Park. Present at the event were Marshall County FRN Executive Director Kimberli Green, City of Moundsville officials, and other community partners. In addition to the hydration station, the Marshall County FRN has also provided reusable water bottles for residents to kick-off the opening of the station. Reusable water bottles can be obtained from Four Seasons pool.
“The city has been working hard on improving public parks and recreation spaces,” states Kimberli Green, Marshall County FRN Executive Director. “The new hydration station is both a physical improvement to East End Park and a gain for residents by promoting hydration while increasing access to clean, safe drinking water. The FRN extends its’ gratitude to the Center for ActiveWV for funding this project and to the City of Moundsville for partnering with us to make it a reality.”
The new hydration station will be available for all community members to access freely and as needed. Residents that would like or need a reusable water bottle are welcome to stop in at Four Seasons pool for one; supplies are limited and are available on first come, first served basis.
